Badrinath

  3. Some said that a revered Hindu philosopher named Shankaracharya established the temple in the 8th century. 
  4. Pilgrims take a holy dip in the Tapt Kund. It is a natural hot water spring and seeks blessings.

What is the Ideal Time for Char Dham Yatra?

The Char Dham Yatra is typically undertaken between the months of April–May and October–November. During the harsh winter months, the high-altitude shrines become inaccessible due to heavy snowfall. The summer months, however, offer pleasant weather with stunning snow-clad mountain views.

How to Plan a Tour of the Char Dham Yatra?

Entire planning is essential for the Char Dham Yatra due to the challenging nature of the territory. 

So, there are some key factors that devotees need to know before starting their journey. 

  • Physical Fitness: Walking and trekking are important pieces of this Yatra, especially to reach Kedarnath. So, it is crucial to be in good physical condition before embarking on the pilgrimage.
  • Accommodation: Book your accommodations in advance, especially during peak season. Also, you need to pre-planned budget hotels and comfortable lodges near the temples. It is considered to be easier to take the Char Dham Yatra package to make it easier. 
  • Transportation: The Char Dham circuit can be covered by road or helicopter. Traveling by road offers a more immersive experience, while helicopters provide a quicker and more comfortable option, especially for those with physical limitations.

Permits: Special permits might be required for some of the Dhams, particularly Kedarnath. You will get these permits online or through designated offices. If you take the Char Dham Yatra Package, then you don’t need to worry about it.
